If anyone would like to make a donation in Chyler's honor you can send a check made out to: The Ronald McDonald House Charities of NC 4601 Six Forks Rd. Suite 200 Raleigh, NC 27609. This is something that would mean a lot to us as the RMHC of NC will be opening a new family room next month on the same floor of Wake Med that Chyler was cared for on that will be dedicated in her honor on Dec. 9th, 2010.

New Designs, New Displays for Self and Pink Cloud Designs
I was feeling a bit crafty this weekend and in desperate need of a way to organize and display my huge jewelry collection. With that being said, after 2 broken fingernails, one bruised thumb, a tirade of my finest swashbuckin' language... I finally made something I think will work!

Ugly Fashion Trend?
So I received the November 2010 J. Crew Catalog a few days ago in the mail. On the cover, there is a picture of the biggest fashion no-no.... A woman's legs with gray tights with peek toe (aka open toe) shoes!
For as long as I can remember from the many, many fashion magazines I have read (and advice from the most fashionable older sister) - one should never expose their toes with hose! What is with all the women breaking this rule? From my quick online research, it appears that this horrible trend began in 2008, fueled by misguided fashionista wannabes. Some sites say: "Go for it .... but follow these rules, like contrast tights, not hose ..." Some say it is walking a fine line between stylish and tacky. I believe that one should never cross that unspoken law of open toe shoes, regardless of which celebrity is sporting such a heinous and atrocious fad!
A fashion website called ShopBop said that "tights and peep toes are the year's new 'It' couple." I laughed out loud! I couldn't disagree more ShopBop! It is a tacky taboo I will never commit. I plan to keep my bare toes peeking... and if I feel the need to cover my legs once the weather takes a turn, I'll be putting those peek toe shoes towards the back of the closet for Spring... making room for some much more sensible and no fashion law-breaking closed toe heels and awesome, butt-kicking boots.
